MOMRAH signs an MOU with EXPRO to improve the quality of municipal and residential projects

The Ministry of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing signed a memorandum of understanding today in Riyadh with the Expenditure & Projects Efficiency Authority (EXPRO) to enhance cooperation and integration and maximize the impact in achieving the concept of spending efficiency in municipal and housing projects, while raising their quality in line with the general strategy of both parties. The signing ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail.

Representing the Ministry of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing in the agreement was Deputy Minister, Mr. Ihab bin Ghazi Al-Hashani, while the CEO, Engineer Abdulrazzaq bin Sabhi Al-Awjan, signed on behalf of EXPRO.

The MOU aims to collaborate in studying the details of spending, operational and capital practices, policies, plans, strategies related to MOMRAH in planning, operation, programs, initiatives, and their impact on public finance and project quality. It also aims to ensure their alignment with financial sustainability goals and provide recommendations regarding them, as well as identifying opportunities to enhance spending efficiency.

Under the MOU, EXPRO, in collaboration with the spending efficiency team in the municipal sector, is responsible for researching and activating opportunities to achieve spending efficiency in all agencies affiliated with the Ministry, municipalities, and their support for spending efficiency teams in the municipal sector to include opportunities to enhance spending efficiency in the quarterly report. Additionally, it includes implementing the requirements for participation in the spending efficiency sustainability program, collecting the required data, and gathering supporting documents for the Ministry and municipalities.

Both parties also cooperate in reviewing the initiatives and programs adopted by MOMRAH and ensuring their alignment with spending efficiency objectives, suggesting necessary changes to achieve spending efficiency and completing what is necessary in this regard. They also collaborate in organizing meetings, seminars, conferences, and specialized training courses in relevant fields and provide MOMRAH with the most successful experiences in spending efficiency in government entities.

The agreement includes proposing plans and programs related to MOMRAH's cultural, social, and informative aspects, in coordination with the relevant entities, with the aim of developing the municipal and housing sectors in the Kingdom and working towards achieving the targets of enhancing the operational and maintenance efficiency of assets and facilities in the municipal sector, and implementing the requirements of National Guide for Asset and Facilities.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing seeks to achieve integration with various government entities through effective strategic partnerships, with the aim of achieving the targets of the municipal and housing sectors in accordance with the Vision 2030, and reflecting on the achievement of sustainable national development goals.
