Bahraini Housing Minister Receives Vice Urban Planning Minister at MOMRAH to discuss ways of cooperation in the field of urban planning

The Bahraini Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amina bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, received the Vice Minister for Urban Planning and Lands at the Ministry of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, Eng. Fahd Al-Mutlaq, in her office in the Bahraini capital, Manama. This was in the presence of the CEO of the Urban Planning and Development Authority, Eng. Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Khayat, the Undersecretary of the Bahraini Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, Eng. Asem Abdullatif Abdullah, and a number of officials from both sides.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in various issues related to the social housing sector and urban planning. They also reviewed common topics, including the formation of a joint technical committee to develop planning solutions for residential neighborhoods and the exchange of professional, technical, and experiential knowledge to increase opportunities for cooperation and expertise.

This meeting took place on the sidelines of Saudi Arabia's participation in the seventh edition of the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2024 organized by the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture under the theme "Advancing Development through AI". During the meeting, Eng. Al-Mutlaq presented the ministry's experience in utilizing artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT) in various fields.

The Bahrain Smart Cities Summit discussed the latest trends related to smart cities, including sustainable models for smart government projects, the national afforestation plan, the use of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT) in urban infrastructure, smart electricity grids and the use of AI for security and safety in smart cities, in addition to combating cyber fraud.
